Barcelona as a centre for doing business
Since 1990, the Global Real Estate company Cushman & Wakefield has conducted a survey of the continent’s leading business cities called European Cities Monitor. Barcelona has steadily risen up the table of the best cities in Europe for business, from eleventh place in 1990 to fourth place in 2006 and 2007. During this period it has moved ahead and overtaken select locations such as Amsterdam, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Geneva and Zurich. It would appear that only London, Paris and Frankfurt, in that order, rank as better business locations. This rise in the city’s international status has been reflected in its attraction as a centre for Spanish programs for business people. If you are serious about learning the language for career reasons, then you cannot be far from the mark if you choose to study Spanish in Barcelona.
