Our intensive Spanish language school is located in the green and tree lined hills 12 miles (19 km) outside of Barcelona. At about two hundred meters above sea level, the air is fresh and clean, with summer time temperatures cooler by 2 to 3º than in the city. |

We are located in Fontpineda, a residential area which students have called the Beverly Hills of Barcelona. The houses, the trees, the hills and the views to the city and the Mediterranean Sea contribute to this likeness. |

This ideal setting for learning Spanish is well communicated: the closest beach is 15 miles (24 km), as is the airport, and the main highway to Madrid (390 miles away - 625 km) is the other side of the hill, down in the valley. There is also a train line to take you into Barcelona. |

Situated on the Mediterranean, Barcelona is Spain's second largest city, as well as being the capital of Catalonia, one of the 17 Autonomous Communities that make up the country. It boasts a population of just under 2 million, or 5 million if the whole metropolitan area is counted. |

There are two languages spoken in this part of Spain: Spanish and Catalan. Each tongue is used as a first language in equal proportions, with nearly everyone being bilingual. Foreigners learning Spanish will invariably be addressed in Spanish. |
